love at first sight

She is here!! She is here!! We saw Padame in person for the first time yesterday! She was picked up in Washington on Wednesday around 5:00pm and arrived at our trainers on Friday, February 12 around 4:18pm.

All her new friends were waiting to meet her.

If you have been reading along, then you know we have been waiting a looong time to meet Padame. Our first inquiry was on December 1, 2020.
The driver opened the back door to the trailer and there she was, in all her golden glory...

Happy the resident Dalmatian, Brad & trainer

Padame looked and looked, you could see her think "where am I??"

poor baby girl did not want to get out

Brad took the lead and let her look

It must be weird to load up from your home, travel in a dark box on wheels for close to 48 hours and open the door to find strangers and an endless sea of white snow...

with the trailer wide open, she stepped out nicely for Brad

Brad walked his new girl through the barn and into the arena to stretch her legs. She was sooo quiet and calm and listened well to Brad. She wasn't scared at all and very interested in meeting all of us.

She stole our hearts.

Our trainer kept saying "could she be any sweeter" and also mentioned how great Padame looked after such a long haul.

For some reason, I was surprised how small she was. Our trainer said she was too.

We fully know Padame will grow and that "her spice" will show up. It is easy to see she is definitely a thinker. Her breeder told us Padame looked like "a woolly bear mammoth with billy goat chin hair" and wasn't kidding! Some serious shedding is going to happen in the Spring.

traveling is exhausting

It was sweet watching Brad meet his girl for the first time

Padame is clearly a special horse

We tucked Padame in her stall, and made the long trip home.

We have been in contact with her breeder, sending messages and photos back and forth. We could not have found a nicer person to deal with. She said she felt the same way, and that some things are just meant to be.

It really feels that way...

it was love at first sight

What a great Valentines present for Brad! She looks lovely and seems to have a gentle and calm nature. So glad she had a safe journey, especially since it is so cold.

Oh god, she’s gorgeous!!! Look at that mane!!! She has the head of her daddy. Simply stunning!!! I’m in love with her, too. I can’t believe she was that calm after her long journey. Nuts!!

How beautiful! She is gorgeous.
Thank goodness she arrived safe and sound.

My all time favorite color. I had a mare for one summer that was a client of my Uncle's that was her color. For a teen girl, that was love that never ended!

Wow...

Thank you thank you! There have been many sleepless nights, but they are all worth it. The travel nights were the worse. I always wanted a Palomino, and had a ceramic horse pally magnet on my refrigerator for many years. Brad found a special one, and that is good enough for me. I look forward to watching them grow together as a team.
