turnout time

Cierra and Hope's turnout time has become a regular part of our daily barn routine. One that we look forward to. It waits, until Brad and I can turn them out together.

Much has changed and yet stayed the same with Hope. She continues being entertaining with her zoomies, catching air and willy nilly bunny hops. Although some days are quieter.

She still enjoys being scratched, and seeks us out. Yet remains reactive, quickly moving away. Not really trusting us. I thought we were making progress. Almost three weeks in, it feels more like we have plateaued. Her tolerance to human touch has somewhat even decreased (IMO, not Brad's) as Hope becomes older and wiser.

All we can do is be patient and continue working with Hope, at her pace.

I love the 3 weeks stage. They really start to get a bit independent then. Are you going to halter her soon? In the stall is a good place to start. Then when you do turn her out on pasture you can lead her beside mama.
Love the leaping photo!
She has a gorgeous profile. She's gonna wow them in the show ring.

We have started introducing the halter to Hope. I plan to share about that next, in a separate post.

I would agree Hope has become more independent. She recently took the liberty of taking herself on a tour of the barn a couple times. Brad had a great idea and now blocks the aisle with Cierra (sideways). I can't be in front and also be the back barrier. The three of us together works really well for getting Hope back in the stall, on the first ask.

Wonderful ! It sure looks like they have gotten into a routine.
Hope is still adooorrsszzz able!
As Shirley said, she is going to one heck of a looker!

Foals can be stinkers and have their own ideas which I don't think is harmful at all.

Time is flying by! I’m looking forward to reading about your leading adventures. She’s so cute, and really feeling her power. I bet you could sit and watch her all day everyday.
