she's a big girl now

Cierra has been asking, and finally got to try Brad's saddle on....

No crow hopping, no bucking, just a wide-eyed wonderful girl! Cierra does bust-a-move when asked to lope, and is just beginning to figure out speed control. She is FAST, and will be super smooth, Brad can't wait to ride her! We are taking her up to our trainers on Friday. She will get her turn, Cierra is a big girl now.

Oh wonderful! Her reaction shows that Brad has instructed her and prepared her properly. No drama, just trust.
Oh, I hope your trainer treats her with equal respect and takes the time and doesn't rush her. Would hate to see anyone undo what Brad has accomplished with her. Cierra is a beautiful, smart and trusting horse. Way to go Brad and Cierra!! How old is she now??

Thanks, she is a special girl! Cierra is 2.5 years old. C-ing, I know what your saying. Luckily, we have known our trainer for several years and trust her. She trained both Koda & Nemo. One of the best things about her young horse training, is that owners are regularly involved in the process.

She's looking good, and her calmness reflects the good groundwork Brad has given her. Way to go!

Thanks all! There is going to be no living with the husband! I agree he absolutely has a way with young horses, but a big factor with Cierra are both her parents have dispositions of gold - and she inherited it. Her disposition is what made him fall in love with her, the rest is icing on the cake. We will miss her daily antics, but know sending her to Iron Horse is in her best interest.

It's always tough sending them out, but if you have a good trainer, it's soooo worth it. She is a lovely girl.
