wild wednesday morning

Whoa! How are we going to get in there to feed?...

Follow me mom
The drifts were so high, we had to scoot along the fence. It was the only way in, without getting stuck. Snow blew everywhere. Thankfully the horse side of the walk-in was dry, storage side not so much...

Storage side
It looks like Cierra will eventually become the alpha mare in our small herd, it's just a matter of size. After waiting so long for breakfast, she didn't want to share. Cierra kept swinging her butt to block Harmony (but not lift a leg). It didn't faze Harmony and eventually they shared kernels, as usual...

Someone had a little extra energy this morning...

Cierra jumping for...fun

The hay was hard to get to...

Cierra's running start, before she jumped the drift

Harmony gets into the action...

Yeay, the bobcat is here...

Wall of snow
What would we do without it...

Taking down the wall, one bucket at a time
 Thanks for diggin us out...

That look about like us - nice to have a bobcat to help with snow removal.

Stay warm and dry! Glad the bobcat saved the day. Cierra is a scene stealer.

We haven't had drifts like that since our April storm last year. This year the most we've had is 2". The drifts do provide a challenge - do you have snowshoes?

Those were the highest drifts I've seen since we've had our horses at "home". It's hard to show the depth, because the gate isn't level. The level half is buried under the snow. I am very thankful for the bobcat, not sure what we would do without one?

Dreaming, I don't have snow shoes. I've always been curious about them.

While we had lots of ice last night it's all gone now and the snow we were supposed to get never came. So we got very lucky. HOWEVER, I'd LOVE a snow day or two!

Cierra is too cute jumping around in all that snow! Not to mention bossing Harmony around =)

Some days I wish I had a bobcat. A person could make a lot of money with one this year. Glad you're getting one so you can get around.
