Our ground is pretty soggy. After watching Nemo do a comical "slide-n-what-the-hell-just-happened-drop-to-the-ground" in the not so dry lot, Brad opted to take Koda to a different field for the first time this year. It is on slightly higher ground, where we
January 4th was a beautiful sunny winter day to try out a new area (and a new long awaited camera lens!!) with Koda. Brad lightly lunged him at a walk/trot.
pretty chill even at the start |
Tank got to join in the fun romping around the field. He does a pretty good job staying out of the way.
Tanks zoomies didn't seem to faze Koda |
Koda taking it all in |
I'll have to remember to groom the horses prior to taking photos (duh!) not afterwards as a reward. Koda loves being groomed.
lazy pants needs encouragement |

Koda is one big barreled chunky monkey |
I get so much joy in watching Brad interact with our horses, or any animals for that matter. He is such a natural, and sooo good with them. I am glad Brad isn't camera shy (like me!) and doesn't mind photos being taken of him with our horses. It allows me to capture their genuine interactions...

Love seeing the interaction between Brad and the horses :) I also love the lighting and golden hues in these pictures. Thanks for sharing!
Koda is a handsome guy! Brad seems to be a natural with the horses. You can see he loves them and they love him. Great pictures and a great idea to lunge him a little bit. I lunged Rosie the other day. They really need some hands on time and ours don’t get all that much in the winter. I’m trying to remedy that now that Christmas is over.
Ummmm you still have leaves on those trees! Looks like fall still! Makes for pretty photos.
Koda looks a little fluffy :0) Bet he is enjoying these outings.
Thanks! As you all know, spending time out of the norm with ones horses is fulfilling. Makes me happy to have something besides trees and the occasional distant white deer or sky event to photograph.
Shirley, yep Koda is more then a little fluffy. It definitely helps when he is more active. He has a very large rib cage barrel, which makes him look even bulkier. It is because of him that we feed from slow feed hay bags in the barn & feeder.
As far as the Fall looking leaves, it came as a surprise to me that the Oaks on our land hold leaves over winter. I think it's because we have a lot of young Oaks, that I learned after moving here keep turned leaves vs older trees that drop them.
