No time to lose. We met down at the farm tonight, got saddled up and headed out on a familiar route with what daylight was left. We both had a busy Monday, but it didn't take long to unwind. The temps were slowly dropping, and the air was crisp - it felt so good to be outside. We watched a hawk coast away, before we approached the last big tree on our way back home.

Sigh...perfect!
Keep riding and writing about it! I'm missing it terribly and it's only been a week! My back is starting to feel better though and I have to keep reminding myself of that goal. Pain free riding!
I agree. Could have used a repeat ride tonight, but didn't get out of work early enough. That usually means I'm not home in time for hugs/feeding either. I'm sad when I don't get to at least see our horses. So Jeni, I completely understand. It really does pay off to allow yourself to heal, altho not easy to wait. Yep, keep reminding yourself of pain free riding!
My 2nd horse was an Appaloosa (mare). Wonderful memories with her. So great your family can share with you!
Dusk is coming too early these days but a pretty picture of it. Glad you got to enjoy it from horseback. No better feeling is there after long stressful days?
It's gonna get tougher...today started later..boooo
Thanks Allison, and welcome to my blog. I'm glad you have wonderful memories of your mare, I would like to hear about her. I love Appy's!!
Absolutely CCC, no better feeling - and yes, it is coming too early.
I know Kacy....but you've got an indoor now, right?! Someday we will have one of our own...
