Let us March into the first half of the month...

Our son had his excavator doing some working at our place. He took down a huge two trunk split tree that was hung up on others. Along with a couple other big tree's waiting to fall on my head. It was so fascinating to watch the action!! He cracked them like toothpicks. My son is a bad ass! I left our woods with a whole new appreciation of his occupation of choice.

There’s a lot to see in all those photos. Burning the butterfly garden is very interesting. Does that prepare it for reemergence better? Tank finding the drain spout is hilarious, as is his stick branch. And your son owns his own excavator! That is super cool.
It is sweet that your herd remains together through the fence. They really are amazing in their connection with one another. They all look so healthy and content.
Yes, control burn should help stunt invasive growth and rejuvenate desirable wild flowers. Will see. Not sure how much good it actually did. We were suppose to leave a secton unburned, but the whole thing really needed a fresh restart.
After renting the first year-ish of business, our son is really happy to own his first excavator. I have never seen a tree/s removed with one.
Being caretakers of our land is keeping us busy!
Well your March was so much better than ours! Still waiting on bare ground here!!! Being sandy soil, you probably don't get a lot of mud, as we also don't. Nemo looks quite clean for spring.
Excavators are amazing and do great work. I love seeing them work too! Looks like March has been beautiful there.
Wonderful photos.
